remember the magic
journaling reads: Once upon a time, there lived a prince and a princess who wearied of their everyday lives. One day, they stumbled upon a magical land filled with fantastic characters and thrilling rides. Quickly, they transformed themselves into an escaped alien experiment and an aristocat, and began to explore the magical kingdom. Together, they marveled at wonderful creatures, zipped about in cool spaceships, flew with elephants, pirated the Caribbean, got wet and discovered It's a small world after all. It had been a gorgeous day, and it was with heavy hearts that they departed, lamenting the shortness of their stay. Little did they know, the magic would linger with them always, and so they came to live happily ever after.
my first job
journaling reads: After three amazing years, I say goodbye to my first job at Caterpillar - a colourful career of many "firsts". I vividly remember packing for my first visits to colossal China and incredible India, panicking over my first blood donation drive and crying the night before my first presentation in mandarin. Over long lunches, extended tea breaks and the occasional work dinner, I found brilliant friends who made my work life sparkle. I will treasure unique memories of these superstars, who supported me through the ups and downs of my relatively short career. I will miss laughing with Soo Wan, philosophizing with Chelsea, pigging out with Kellyn, debating with Ansen and gossiping with Zhengmin amongst many other delights. It had been a comfortable career that lacked something. Like a relationship with a sweet, caring boyfriend without the chemistry. It took me a while to leave, but the brave step has been taken. Still, the next time I pass a job site, I will smile at the familiar sight of the much-loved 320D working hard to build our city, progress made possible by the commitment of 90,000 employees working as one.

a walk to remember
journaling reads: as we walk through the beautiful shinjuku gyoen, we beam with pleasure at doing nothing, absolutely nothing for a good two hours. we laugh at the quaint names of fair roses. a wary cat catches your eye and you happily take its picture. it was december and the trees had lost their leaves. i recall wishing we had been here to see the russet leaves of fall but now know we could not have come at a better time. a gentle breeze lifts my cares away with the precious last leaves of the trees. the sadness which stems from the sight of cold, bare trees makes way for delight as i picture the cherry blossoms in spring. the luscious garden is but a small oasis in busy tokyo - a tiny city in our fascinating universe. on the other side of the world, the leaves are still green. and the grass always is, back where i am from.
